Bollywood diva & Mathura MP Hema Malini announces Shri Krishna Mahotsav 2015

Mumbai, 21st April 2015: It’s that time of the year when the devotees of Lord Krishna will chant the divine name of “Hare Rama Hare Krishna” during the two day Shri Krishna Mahotsav 2015. This celebration of Lord Krishna’s birth will be held on 25th & 26th April 2015 in the sacred place of Mathura at Vrindavan Chandrodaya Temple. STAR Plus, India’s leading Hindi General Entertainment Channel is the telecast partner for Shri Krishna Mahotsav so that devotees across the world can enjoy the festival this May. Shri Krishna Mahotsava 2015 is aimed at giving a huge impetus to Indian culture and its global following by celebrating the ethos of Lord Krishna, the oldest and most followed Hindu deity by showcasing Mathura, His birthplace to the new world in a very entertaining and engaging manner. The initiative celebrates Lord Krishna‘s birth place re-affirming its mythological and cultural significance and will work at attracting attention from all over the world for people to come and visit. Bollywood celebrity and BJP Member of Parliament Hema Malni is the convener while Sunil Rane is the co-convener of Shri Krishna Mohotsav 2015.
Shri Krishna Mahotsav 2015 aims to build and showcase Mathura region as a Global Cultural Tourism Destination. The other objective of the festival is to increase international and domestic tourism inflow into Mathura. It will also engage and activate tourists and devotees of Lord Krishna across the world. The grand Shri Krishna Mahotsav will begin with a Pooja in the morning at a Shubh Muhurat on day one. The festival arena will be open to the VIPs and special guests during the day. The festival will also celebrate the ‘Baal Leela’ of Lord Krishna (childhood years). Music, Dance, Theatre and other forms of performing arts will be dedicated to the glory of little Krishna during the Mahotsav. On day one, celebrities like Mayur Dance, Malini Awasthi, Madhushala, Esha Deol, Chandni – Indian Princess, Shraddha Kapoor and Udit Narayan will be seen at the Mahotsav. On the second day, Hema Malini, Mayur Dance, Parineeti Chopra, Arjun Kapoor, Gopi & Ahem, Prince Dance Group, Huma Qureshi,Govinda and Shankar Mahadevan will take part in the celebrations through dance, music and singing.
Hema Malini also plans to open a cultural Music and Dance academy especially for girls, “I always had in mind to teach the beautiful girls in Mathura some good classical dancing steps. The girls here are really beautiful; they also dance in their typical, ‘Brij’ folk dancing style that prevails here in Mathura. But what I intend is that these girls should also know the meaning of the real Indian classical dance. I want to impart the right knowledge to them. However, it is sad that the cultural dances of India which were the pride of our country have totally been over ruled by the Bollywood dancing style. Therefore I have planned to open a cultural School wherein these children will be taught the meaning of Classical Dance in real. Also- since I am into the cultural field for many years, I want them to excel in dance.”
Not forgetting the most important aspect in our day to day life – basic sanitation facilities, the Member of Parliament mentioned, “I was surprised to note that the poor women folk as well young girls had to wait until dusk to be able to go ahead and attend to the nature’s call. It was saddening to hear that all this they have to do under dire consequences. As they could do this in an open nature – so they feared snakes and other insects. Also they feared that some male could come and harm them. When I heard all this I decided to make some toilets for them. I have already made a few toilets out there in the village – Rawal that I have adopted. But I need more funds to be able to make some more all over my constituency- Mathura. And I am working towards it.”
In a bid to upgrade the living conditions of the Mathura people as well enhancing the Tourism and Socio-Cultural nuances out there, Hemaji is leaving no stone unturned.
During her ‘padhyatra’ while she was canvassing last summer, she wanted to make Mathura, the land of Radha Krishna Bhumi – a clean place and also ensuring the people by giving them the basic facilities of living comfortably. Several noted personalities have pledged their support for the welfare and betterment of Mathura!
